CBA SCHOLARSHIP

Beginning with the 2026–2027 academic year, the CBA Scholarship will be renamed the Jon Davis Legacy Scholarship, honoring a life of faithful service and lasting impact. For more than 30 years at Charleston Southern University, Jon served in key academic and ministerial roles, investing deeply in the lives of students and colleagues. A coach, pastor, mentor, and devoted family man, Jon was known for his unwavering faith in Jesus and genuine love for others. This scholarship carries forward his legacy by encouraging students to live with purpose, serve others, and make a lasting difference (Hebrews 13:7).

The Charleston Baptist Association awards scholarships of up to $1,000 per semester (up to $2,000 total) to Baptist students accepted at a college or university supported by the South Carolina Baptist Convention, or to students pursuing an approved seminary degree.

This scholarship is awarded to permanent residents of the Charleston area who are active members of a Charleston Baptist Association (CBA) church. Recipients are selected based on applicant qualifications and financial need.

Applications must be completed using the online forms below (note: two sections are required). In addition, two reference forms must be submitted via email to office@charlestonbaptist.net—one from a church leader and one from an academic or workplace reference.

Scholarship amounts are contingent upon the number of applicants and the availability of funds.
